Class

Positive and Negative Collage

Instructor: Julie Maynard
Description: Using shapes from nature, such as oak leaves or birds, will break the ice that can exist when facing a blank sheet of paper and free you to enjoy working with color and pattern. In this two-session workshop, experiment with positive and negative images to discover the pleasure of a well-placed found object. After an overview of adhesives and gluing techniques, we’ll work on composition, including how to get widely varying results from repetition of the same shapes and patterns. Bring your favorite scissors and colorful printed materials. Tuition includes all other supplies.
