Throwing and Hand Building with Ceramics

Instructor: Allison Severance
Description: Learn how to create functional pots on the potter’s wheel and by using hand-building techniques. Through demonstrations, you will learn to make these basic forms with confidence and use new skills to create a large variety of pots such as mugs, pitchers, colanders, dinnerware, and bakeware. Techniques such as pulling handles and attaching and arranging feet and lids will be demonstrated. Individual expression will be strongly encouraged and emphasized so you may choose to make pots on the wheel, hand build, or use a combination of both. All skill levels are welcome!
