Class

Throwing and Hand Building with Ceramics

Instructor: Allison Severance
Description: Learn how to create functional pots on the potter’s wheel with hand-building techniques. Through demonstrations, you will learn to make these basic forms with confidence and use these skills to create a large variety of pots such as mugs, pitchers, colanders, dinnerware, and bakeware. Techniques such as pulling handles, attaching feet, and lids and their arrangement will be discussed and demonstrated. The vocabulary of individual expression will be strongly encouraged and emphasized so you may choose to make pots on the wheel, hand build, or use a combination of both.
