Still Life Painting

Instructor: Lee Newman
Description: Since the prolific period of the Dutch Golden Age, still life has been an important subject of painters. Working from life, you will cover the basics: blocking in the large masses of a painting, exact mixing of color, and techniques of applying paint with brush and knife. Through directed exercises and references to masters from Clara Peters to Picasso, you will develop a painting over several stages. Instruction includes demonstrations and critiques.
