Introduction to Monotypes

Description: Monotype printmaking is a painterly technique that offers the opportunity to create work that is layered and rich. In this two-day workshop, you will learn different transfer techniques that can be used to create unique prints. On day one, we will go over subtractive and additive techniques, ghost prints, and stencils. On day two, we will further experiment with texture, inks, mark making, and layers and try our hand at hybrid prints. Each participant will create a set of monotypes. Don't forget to bring your spontaneous spirit to this workshop! Beginners welcome! Tuition includes all supplies.
