Drawing from a Cast (in charcoal)

Instructor: Lesa Cook
Description: Using a "sight/size" approach, beginning and intermediate students will work from individual plaster casts, setting up the easel and paper so that they are adjacent to the object, and drawing it at the same size, making it easier to train the eye to see and compare object to drawing. This is a traditional step used to teach students to observe, compare and relate. It is also a great intermediate step from beginning drawing to life drawing, because it concentrates on the tonal values and blending.
