Monotypes: Painterly Printmaking 18-3-OM2

Instructor: Lesa Cook
Description: Paint with ink on a plexi-glass plate and run it through a printing press to create beautiful, painterly images on paper. This method of printmaking uses both additive and subtractive techniques to emphasize gesture and expressiveness. Work from your own reference photos or still life to create a single print of each image. Learn to create "ghost" prints by running your plate multiple times - which can result in a subtle, ethereal effect. No experience necessary. Tuition includes all supplies. Students should bring reference photos to work from, a smock, apron, or clothes they don't mind getting messy.
