Drawing Children

Instructor: Lesa Cook
Description: Working in either graphite or charcoal, this class will concentrate on drawing children, focusing on anatomy and expression. Presentations of historical examples, instructor demonstrations, and individual attention will be provided. Discussions of the challenges of working with juvenile models, from life and in photographs, will be covered. Graphite and charcoal drawing techniques will be covered as students work from their own photographs to create compelling portraits of children. Students should bring the following SUPPLIES: 2 sheets of Canson MiTientes sky blue or steel gray paper; charcoal pencils (of varying hardness), white charcoal pencil, kneaded eraser, 18x24 in drawing pad. NOTE: Drawing supplies are available for purchase at The Delaplaine (approximate value $25.)
