ATTENTION ARTISTS!

The Delaplaine hosts an annual gala each fall to celebrate another year of bringing the visual arts to the Frederick region and to raise funds to provide arts access and opportunities for all in the community. This year, the event will take inspiration from the classic Wonderland stories to present Alice in Frederickland!

One of the event’s signature activities will be an online and silent auction featuring Wonderland-inspired artworks on 12″ x 12″ canvases (and approximately-sized 3–D artworks). The public online portion will begin about three weeks prior to the September 28 gala and end that evening at the event. All entries will have the same starting bid.

We invite local artists to participate by donating an artwork for the auction (we will supply the canvas, if desired). Artworks should be inspired by or an homage to the Lewis Carroll stories, or, like the event itself, blend elements of Wonderland with our own community. This is a wonder-ful way to express your creativity and talent while supporting visual arts education!

Canvases can be picked-up at the Front Desk during regular hours. Finished artworks must be delivered to the Delaplaine by August 15. All participating artists will be acknowledged at the gala and online. Please let us know if you plan to participate or if you have questions.

Thank you, and we’ll see you through the looking glass!
