Class

Eastern European Eggs as Christmas Ornaments

Instructor: Joanna Lohr
Description: Discover the Eastern European art of pysanky, wax-resist egg decoration that can be used to create Christmas ornaments! Traditionally involving the application of hot wax with a stylus, pysanky often features folk designs in geometric, plant, animal, and symbolic motifs. In this afternoon workshop, you will progress through the egg waxing and dyeing process, with instruction that will emphasize proper technique and encourage individual design, to decorate 4 to 6 eggs. All skill levels welcome. Tuition includes all supplies.
