Introduction to Glass Beadmaking

Description: Discover the fascinating and ancient technique of making glass beads over a flame in this two-day introductory workshop. A brief history of glass beadmaking, studio safety, and an overview of materials will be included, as well as lively discussion while we work. Hands-on practice will allow you plenty of time to practice the skills demonstrated. Expect to learn how to make a round bead, use heat and gravity to bring the shape into focus, and enhance beads with a variety of decorative techniques. Tuition includes all supplies. NOTE: This workshop meets on Saturday from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm and Sunday from 12:00 to 4:00 pm.
