Figure Sculpture

Instructor: Lesa Cook
Description: Using ceramic clay, create a 1/4 life size figure sculpture over a 9-week period, working from a live nude model. The class will feature demonstrations, presentations, and individual instruction. We will discuss such topics as anatomy, gesture and expression, properties of the clay, engineering the figure without an armature, how to hollow out the sculpture in preparation for firing, and various repair and finishing details. Tuition includes all supplies. NOTE: There will be no class on July 4.
