Drawing the Head

Instructor: Lesa Cook
Description: This class begins with a discussion and drawing of the anatomy of the skull and the muscles of the head. Next, you will study the general planes and proportion of the head, including features, then work from a live model and use charcoal to create a portrait. Demonstrations include charcoal techniques emphasizing blending and tonality. Students are asked to supply newsprint pads, tracing paper pads, and artist tape (estimated maximum cost: $30). Tuition includes all other supplies.
