Expressive Self-Portrait Drawing in Charcoal

Description: Self-portraits have been used throughout history as a tool for expression and reflection. In this two-day workshop, explore the anatomy of the head, emphasizing planes and proportion and using mirrors and photographs for reference. Examples of self-portraits from history, from Rembrandt to Cindy Sherman, will be discussed. This workshop is geared to beginning and intermediate students.
