Intermediate Furniture Making: End Table

Description: This workshop meets Friday, February 8 and Saturday, February 9 from 10am-5pm; and Sunday, February 10 from 11:30am-5pm. This intermediate-level class is comprehensive in design, and encompasses the use of both power tools and fine hand tools. Students will make an end table using fine joinery techniques such as mortise and tenon construction. Students will learn the properties of wood, wood movement, and how it effects joinery. Students will learn safe use and operation of all of the wood shop power tools. Proper use and sharpening of chisels and planes will be demonstrated. Prior basic woodworking experience required. Tuition includes supplies. Students should bring pencil, notepad, any chisels or planes or other woodworking tools you may have.
