Intermediate Furniture Making 18-3-WD3

Description: This class meets Thursday, February 22 from 6- 9 pm; Friday, February 23 and Saturday, February 24 from 9:30 am - 5 pm and Sunday, February 25 from 11:30 am - 4:30 pm. Learn to make your own furniture! This class is comprehensive in design and encompasses the use of both power tools and fine hand tools. Students will make an end table constructed using fine joinery techniques such as mortise and tenon construction. Students will learn the properties of wood, wood movement, and how it effects joinery. Students will learn safe use and operation of all of the shops power tools. The teacher will demonstrate proper use of and sharpening of chisels and planes. Open to ages 18 and older. Prior basic woodworking experience required. Tuition includes supplies. Students should bring pencil, notepad, any of your own chisels or planes or other woodworking tools (if you have these.)
