Anatomy for Artists

Description: THIS CLASS IS NOW CLOSED. Understanding human anatomy is key when developing figure and portraiture techniques. Master artist Lesa Cook will help students learn essential skills as they work from a skeleton, anatomical charts, and live models. Students will practice drawing and, while examining muscular and skeletal systems, create detailed, layered drawings in charcoal and colored chalk. Tuition includes model fees. Students should bring the following SUPPLIES to the first class: Drawing pad (18x24); vine charcoal and charcoal pencils; kneaded eraser; sanding block; bristle flat brushes (4 inches wide and smaller). Later in the semester, students will need: Red conté crayon or pastel pencil; white charcoal pencil.
