Foundations in Drawing & Painting

Description: Have an interest in art but have no idea where to begin? This class is ideal for the absolute beginner! Learn the fundamentals of drawing and painting through in-class demos and one-on-one guidance. Topics will include paint application, color mixing, contrast, value, proportion, and best practices in obtaining art supplies. ART SUPPLIES: Basic drawing materials will be provided on the first day of class! Please bring what you may already have of the following: graphite pencils, kneaded eraser, vine and compressed charcoal, drawing paper. Later in the semester you'll need: acrylic paints in primary colors and white; brushes, palette, heavy watercolor paper or matboard.
