Monochromatic Oil Painting: The Value of Values

Date & Time:

Mar 26 @ 6:00 pm May 14 @ 9:00 pm

Cost:

$230.00 – $255.00

One of the keys to a successful naturalistic painting is a wide range of values. By creating a grisaille, or tonal painting, you can focus on value, which is key to creating the illusion of an object that has depth. Begin the course by creating a four-value study of a composition. Then create a full value scale and a small, simplified study before painting a nine-value painting. Previous basic drawing and painting experience is recommended. Supply list will be included with confirmation. (Estimated maximum cost: $120)
