A Celebration of Photography
FOCUS, a month-long community celebration of photography, is held biennially in November. The event includes exhibitions and activities that spotlight talented artists from throughout the region, feature photography as a medium, and encourage you to pick up a camera and start creating your own art!

ABOUT THE JUROR: Saskia Kahn is a photographer specializing in portraiture and a faculty member at the Community College of Baltimore County. Her work in this genre extends into community-building through collaborative photography projects. Kahn draws from her heritage and interest in diasporic memory. She was the winner of the best photography thesis for the 2022 Global Design Graduate Show and her work has been featured in The New York Times, The Brooklyn Rail, and Entertainment Weekly, among others. Kahn is also a contributing photo essayist for BmoreArt magazine.

Victorian Photography Studio with David Wilson
Art at Noon: Saturday, Nov 23 • 12–1 pm • FREE
Dave Wilson of Victorian Photography Studio in Gettysburg, PA, will demonstrate and discuss wet plate collodion photography. This method, also known as tintype photography, is most commonly associated with the American Civil War but is having a resurgence among photographers today. The demonstrations and talk will cover the history, process, and chemistry required to capture photos before the turn of the century.
