The Delaplaine is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, and all contributions are tax deductible to the fullest extent of the law. The value of goods/services for each ticket received through your sponsorship is $50. You will receive a receipt, which you should retain for tax purposes. A copy of our current financial statement is available upon request by contacting the Development Office. Documents and information submitted to the State of Maryland under the Maryland Charitable Solicitations Act are available from the Secretary of State, State House, Annapolis, MD 21401 for the cost of copying and postage.

Everyone deserves art.
That’s the Delaplaine’s vision, and we take it very seriously. Because of generous friends like you, over the past 40 years The Delaplaine Arts Center has grown from a grassroots organization to a celebrated leader in the Mid-Atlantic arts community, welcoming more than 75,000 people each year. It’s likely true that we’re best known for the many exhibitions we host, classes and camps we offer, and free public programs we provide each year.
What is less well-known but as vitally important are the many ways we strive to serve everyone in the community, including the underserved, at-risk, and marginalized in the Frederick region. From providing free educational and creative visual arts classes to local community partners such as Alzheimer’s Association, Arc of Frederick County, and the Frederick Center—just to name a few—to distributing free art kits through our social service partners like Heartly House to those who otherwise many not have access to art programs; from special opportunities like the M&T Senior Scholarship in the Arts program to taking programs out into the community to local libraries and other venues; and from being open daily with free admission to providing American Sign Language for our programs at no cost to participants, there are myriad ways we are bringing meaningful arts experiences to all in our community. Each year, new programs and initiatives are added to reach even more residents and visitors.
None of this would be possible without the generosity of likeminded individuals and businesses who share our vision that each and every person in our community deserves opportunity and access to the visual arts. You can take pride in, and ownership of, each bridge that’s built—each young summer camper who has a door to a world of creativity opened, and each senior who picks up a paint brush for the first time and discovers a new love. There are thousands of them, and they are the legacy of your support.
