A Wider Lens: IndieLens Pop Up

Always In Season
Film Screening and Discussion

Wednesday, February 26 • 7-9 pm

From the Maryland Public Television series IndieLens Pop Up comes a community event partnership between Frederick County Public Libraries; the African American Resources, Cultural & Heritage Society of Frederick County (AARCH); and the Delaplaine to host a screening and discussion of the acclaimed documentary Always in Season. Centering around a mother’s search for justice and reconciliation, the film presents descendants of the victims and perpetrators of lynching working together to heal a violent history. Blending observational footage with first-person testimonies and expert input, the film examines the lingering impact of lynching and the link between this historic form of racial terrorism and the racial violence that exists today.

The film may not be suitable for children younger than age 18.
