In this process\, linoleum is removed with gouges to create the design or image to be printed from the remaining raised areas of the linoleum. DESCRIPTION:Independently refine ceramics skills and bring your personal visions to life in a supportive open studio environment. Students are encouraged to bring in ideas for projects and will receive as much or as little assistance as needed. A wide variety of contour drawing techniques\, layering processes\, and drawing materials will be examined. DESCRIPTION:Working from plaster casts of sculptures by artists such as Rodin\, Carpeaux\, and Michelangelo\, create your own copy in clay while learning about proportions\, anatomy\, expression\, and art history. DESCRIPTION:Join other homeschoolers to dive into a different artist\, method\, or medium of art! By the end of each month\, you’ll have completed works of art for your homeschool portfolio. This month: Learn about printmaking and mark-making. Students will explore creating prints with foam plates\, gelli plates\, cardboard collagraphs\, and more. \nRegistration is by month only\, space is limited\, and pre-registrations are required. Tuition includes all supplies. \nLimited classroom assistant positions are available at no charge for teens ages 12 to 14 who have younger sibling enrolled. Teen assistants are expected to help all of the students as needed\, keep materials tidy as much as possible\, hand out supplies\, etc.

DESCRIPTION:Photography \nPart of FOCUS: A Celebration of Photography\, the NJPE takes place every other year in November. The exhibition features selected photographs by regional and national artists. \nCALL FOR ENTRIES: Artists residing within the United States are invited to enter up to three photographs for consideration. All photographs (black & white\, color\, non-silver\, computer-manipulated\, digital\, or pinhole) are eligible. Deadline for entries is September 27. Brady Robinson is a Baltimore-based photographer and creative director known for her vibrant and eclectic mix of fine art photography\, cultural documentation\, and portraits of creatives. Her work has been featured in solo and group exhibitions in the US and internationally\, and her photographs are held in the permanent collections of the Orlando Museum of Art and the Spanish Cultural Center in Santo Domingo\, Dominican Republic. Robinson teaches photography and senior seminar at Georgetown University and is a contributing photographer for BmoreArt and Baltimore Beat.
