DESCRIPTION:Explore relief printmaking using linoleum in this Saturday workshop. In this process\, linoleum is removed with gouges to create the design or image to be printed from the remaining raised areas of the linoleum. There are different types of linoleum\, and battleship grey unmounted linoleum will be used in this workshop. \nPrevious drawing experience is recommended. \nTuition includes all supplies\, aside from a reference photo or drawing. \nNo later than one week before class\, email either or both of the following reference images to our Instruction Manager\, who will flip the image and print it for your use during class. \n\nBlack and white photograph with 4:5 aspect ratio\nBlack and white drawing with 4:5 aspect ratio or 8×10 inches\n\nNOTE: This workshop will take a lunch break at mid-day. DESCRIPTION:Independently refine ceramics skills and bring your personal visions to life in a supportive open studio environment. Students are encouraged to bring in ideas for projects and will receive as much or as little assistance as needed. Each class\, there will be a demo highlighting a specific technique to be applied to new projects. \nPrerequisite: wheel throwing classes\, knowledge of cone 6 clay\, and understanding of glazes and glaze application. \nTuition includes up to 25 lbs. of clay; access to tools\, pottery wheels\, and glazes; as well as firing of completed work. \nPlease note: \n\nStudio tools will be available for your use\, but you are welcome to bring your own.\nPlease plan to have your work completed and ready for glaze firing by the end of the course. Her work has been featured in solo and group exhibitions in the US and internationally\, and her photographs are held in the permanent collections of the Orlando Museum of Art and the Spanish Cultural Center in Santo Domingo\, Dominican Republic. Robinson teaches photography and senior seminar at Georgetown University and is a contributing photographer for BmoreArt and Baltimore Beat.
