DESCRIPTION:Professor\, researcher\, and curator Dr. Henry Skerritt joins us for a talk on the history and influence of our winter Artist of Inspiration\, Nonggirrnga Marawili\, a celebrated Australian Yolngu painter and printmaker. \nHenry Skerritt is Assistant Professor in the Department of Art and Curator of Research at the Kluge-Ruhe Aboriginal Art Collection of the University of Virginia. His research centers on the engagement of Indigenous peoples with the institutions of art\, with a particular methodological focus on the role of Indigenous communities in curating their own art histories.
