DESCRIPTION:Travel with us to the Baltimore Museum of Art to see Amy Sherald: American Sublime\, which traces the evolution of the artist\, a defining voice of her generation who transformed American portraiture. The BMA was founded on the belief that access to art and ideas is integral to a vibrant and healthy civic life. It has long focused on acquiring contemporary art\, as well as maintaining and deepening a historic collection made relevant through vigorous development and reinterpretation in all collecting areas. \n\nSpace is limited\, and registration is first-come\, first-served.\nFee includes deluxe motor coach transportation\, special exhibit tickets\, and snacks on the bus.\nThe bus will be depart Frederick promptly at 9:00 am\, and we expect to return around 5:00 pm.\nAll backpacks\, packages\, laptops\, or items larger than 11 x 15 inches must be checked at the Checkroom.\nWheelchairs are available free of charge at the Checkroom.\nLunch will be on your own. DESCRIPTION:Join us on a visit to The Phillips Collection\, a century-old collection of modern and contemporary art originally founded by Duncan Phillips and housed in his former home in Washington\, DC. Following Phillips’s unconventional approach to exhibitions\, galleries are frequently rearranged to facilitate new conversations between artworks and fresh experiences for visitors. On view during our visit will be “Out of Many: Reframing an American Art Collection\,” a special exhibition of how various artists have imagined and depicted the people\, cultures\, landscapes\, and histories of the United States\, with works on loan from Howard University and the University of Maryland. \n\nSpace is limited\, and registration is first-come\, first-served.\nFee includes deluxe motor coach transportation\, special exhibit tickets\, and snacks on the bus.
