Continuing Landscapes in Pastel

Description: Continue the exciting journey of discovery which you began when you took Pastel 101. You can capture beautiful landscapes, which lend themselves to artistic license, utilizing the four seasons to explore color and value in this context. Introduction to Pastels is highly recommended before taking this course, because it sets the foundational skills for beginning techniques in pastel. By the end of the course students will be able to-(a minimum of 4, no more than 6) . Apply advanced techniques of pastel such as: blocking in, broken color, building up, edge qualities, and accenting. . Compose two projects in five week’s time. . Critique your own art work and those of others, using constructive criticism. . Utilize the elements of art color and value to create landscapes featuring the four seasons.
