Figure Sculpture

Instructor: Lesa Cook
Description: Figure sculpture using ceramic clay. Students will have the chance to work on one figure sculpture over a 9 week period, working from a live nude model. Class will feature: demonstrations, presentations and individual instruction. Instructor will cover topics such as: anatomy, gesture and expression, properties of the clay, engineering the figure without an armature, how to hollow the sculpture out in preparation for firing, and various repair and finishing details.
