Intermediate Drawing and Painting

Description: This class will focus on how to optimize the student’s skills to take their creative endeavors to the next level and learn to transition from drawing into a painting. Through a series of projects, we will explore how to apply principles of drawing, light and color mixing. Each class begins with a demonstration or lecture followed by one-on-one instruction. Art movements such as Dada, Cubism and Expressionism will be introduced and discussed as it relates to the student’s work. This class is intended for those who would like to develop their skills further after taking an Elements course or who already have a basic understanding of the elements of art and some practice experience. Students should bring the following supplies: Drawing pad 11x14" or larger, assorted pencils and erasers, pens (any type), assortment of acrylic paints, and brushes.
