Beginning Oil Painting with Jan McIntyre-Creager 19-4

Instructor: Jan McIntyre-Creager
Description: Through demonstration, discussion, and the use of historic references, instructor Jan McIntyre-Creager will guide students in learning the materials and fundamental techniques of oil painting. Color mixing, paint application, and form building will be covered. A shared supply of oil paints and brushes will be available for the first class. Students should bring what they already have of the following supplies to the first class: PAINTS: Cadmium red medium, cadmium yellow medium, cerulean blue, ultramarine blue, viridian green, yellow ochre, burnt or raw umber, titanium white (Winsor & Newton, Grumbacher, or Gamblin recommended); BRUSHES: #4 round, #6 flat or filbert, #10 flat or filbert; Canvas boards 12x16; a palette; Turpenoid and a jar with lid; rags or paper towels; any size sketchpad or notebook for notes.
