Watercolor Studio

Instructor: Jan McIntyre-Creager
Description: Continue to hone your skills under the guidance of artist Jan McIntyre Creager. This class is geared for intermediate watercolor painters, but beginner students are welcome to join! Students will work from still life and photographs and review watercolor techniques, including color mixing, paint application methods, and design fundamentals. Instructor will provide personal direction for returning students and focus more on creativity and art concepts. Open to students 14 and older. ART SUPPLIES: Students should bring what they already have of the following supplies to the first class: • Pencil and eraser • Sketchpad (any size) • Roll of paper towels • Palette with 8 wells • Brushes: 4 Simply Simmons brushes: flat 3/4 inch or 1/2 inch, flat #8, round 1/2 inch, and round #8 • Paper: 2 sheets Arches 140lb cold press watercolor paper OR a 9x12in Arches water color block (140lb) • Paints: Windsor Newton Cotman (8ml tubes) in at least one of each color group of the following: Alizarin Crimson or Cadmium Red Ultramarine Blue or Cobalt Blue Viridian Green or Sap Green Cadmium Yellow or Aureolen Yellow Burnt Umber or Yellow Ochre (Total approx. value of all supplies: $65-$120) *NOTE materials will be discussed in the first class. A shared supply of materials will be available for students to use the first class. A limited supply of palettes, brushes, Arches paper block, and watercolor paints are available for purchase at The Delaplaine.
