Chains and Pierced Work

Description: Learn to solder links to create a strong, wearable chain in this class geared for intermediate and advanced students. Students will create silver chains and domed, pierced designs to use as charms for their chains. Project 1: Loop-in-Loop Chain; Project 2: Herakles Knot Chain; Project 3: Domed Pierced Chain. Students will need to following SUPPLIES: Projects 1 & 2: 3/8 inch (9.5mm) hardwood dowel (birch or oak, not pine); 15 feet of sterling silver, 20-gauge dead soft round wire; 5 feet of sterling silver, 24-gauge dead soft round wire; beads for your chain; Project 3: 1x3 inch of sterling silver, 20-gauge sheet (Approximate value $35 - $45). REQUIRED: Studio waiver (provided in class), safety glasses, disposable foam earplugs, and ventilated respirator.
