Eastern European Egg Painting

Instructor: Joanna Lohr
Description: Learn the Eastern European art of "pysanky" or wax-resist egg decoration! Traditionally involving the application of hot wax with a stylus, pysanky often feature folk designs in geometric, plant, animal, and symbolic motifs. Instructor Joanna Lohr will lead students through the egg waxing and dyeing process, emphasizing proper technique and encouraging individual design. Tuition includes supplies. No experience necessary. Geared for ages 12 and older. Students should bring an empty egg carton to transport your completed eggs, and wear a smock with sleeves you can roll up.
