Drawing Techniques on White Scratchboard

Instructor: Lesa Cook
Description: Experiment with an innovative scratchboard technique that involves pastel drawing and scratching onto a prepared surface of powdered marble. Different from the more widely known black scratchboard technique, this tonal technique allows for both a wide range of lighter values and precise details. It is an excellent medium for drawing fur or hair so the focus will be one drawing animals. NOTE: All supplies are provided. Students should bring a reference photo of an animal or pet - or choose from photos we'll have on hand during the workshop. Geared for ages 15 to adult.
