handbuilding with Clay: Parent and Child

Description: Learn the basics of handbuilding with clay in this class! Explore techniques to create funtional pottery pieces and sculptural forming processes such as working with hard and soft slabs, joining, pinching, and sculpting. Projects include designing your own mug, plate, and pinched flower pot decorated with some sculpted plants and flowers. Geared for parent and child pairs, but all ages are welcome! Tuition fee covers adult/child pair plus materials. Students should bring the following: a smock or apron for each of you; cloth towels or rags for cleaning up.
